Kambaba Jasper

Composition

Kambaba is one of the rarest and most unusual types of Jasper.  It's a peculiar jasper that comes from  South Africa and Madagascar. Kambaba-Jasper is a structure consisting of microcrystalline quartz and interlaced with fossilized Stromatolites. Stromatolites are fossils produced by ancient microbes that resemble present-day blue-green algae. Stromatolites lived billions of years ago and are the oldest known fossils.
